Financial Wizard?

Yesterday's LAT discusses McClintocks's state expenses (conclusion - he spends a fair amount of our money) and on August 8th the SacBee had an article about the candidate's financial filings. (sorry no link)

These articles show that McC has nearly nothing to show for 20 years of work. He owns a condo in Thousand Oaks and has less than $20,000 in investments.

His claim to fame is being smart about money. But how many smart people do we know who didn't invest in either the real estate or stock market run up during the last 20 years?
